Sinabi ng pamahalaan ng Pilipinas na makikipagtulungan ito sa opisina ng United States Trade Representative (USTR) sa kasalukuyang ginagawang imbestigasyon sa tinaguriang unfair trade practices, kabilang ang umano’y forced labor, sa 60 economies, kabilang ang Pilipinas.
Ayon kay Trade Secretary Cristina Roque, “We take note of the ongoing Section 301 investigations recently launched by the United States against 60 economies. We will closely monitor and actively participate in the investigation to address the concerns of the United States.”
Ayon sa USTR na nagsimula na ang ikalawang serye ng Section 301 probes sa 60 economies kaugnay ng umano’y pagkukulang ng mga bansang ito na pigilan ang paggamit ng forced labor.
“These investigations will determine whether foreign governments have taken sufficient steps to prohibit the importation of goods produced with forced labor and how the failure to eradicate these abhorrent practices impacts US workers and businesses,” ayon kay Jamieson Greer, US Trade Representative.
Kasama sa listahan ng 60 bansa at economies ang ilang pangunahing ka-partner at kaalyado ng US gaya ng Australia, Canada, European Union, United Kingdom, Israel, India, Qatar, at Saudi Arabia. Nasa listahan din ang China at Russia.
